8 Foods most likely to give you food poisoning!
The toll of persons getting sick by consuming contaminated and adulterated food is increasing, and so the number of beds in the hospitals too across the world is rising as never before. Food poisoning is not very unusual and many people, young or old, suffer from it at some point of their lives. But, the good news is, if treated effectively on time, it can be cured.
Food poisoning basically occurs when one takes in or swallows water or food filled with parasites, viruses and bacteria.

Parasites in pork
Pork is one such food which is high on parasites, and the presence of these throws many people on hospital beds. This parasite which is generally found in pork is known as “Toxoplasma”, which can be fatal if an individual has a weak immune system. Studies have shown eggs to be contaminated with salmonella, and so, eating raw eggs is just not recommended. In order to avoid the presence of salmonella, it is best that you refrigerate the eggs so as to keep salmonella away.
Fish and shellfish
As high as 6% of deaths from food poisoning occur due to food-borne illness from fish and shellfish. This is because fishes sometimes come from contaminated water. Hence, the best way to safeguard yourself is to buy fresh fish which is clear-eyed and not too smelly.
Dairy products (Listeria)
Listeria is a bacteria that affects dairy products such as soft cheese. The presence of it in food causes serious food poisoning.
Beef too has Toxoplasma in it. People consuming beef can fall sick if the beef is not properly cooked. It can prove to be really harmful for pregnant women.
E.coli bacteria in raw vegetables
This sounds to be a common word to almost all of us. E.coli or Escherichia coli is a bacteria usually found in raw vegetables, salad, undercooked meat, unpasteurized milk and cheese.
Staphylococcus aureus in poultry, ice-cream!
This is again a form of bacteria that is found in ice-cream, eggs, custard, cheese, pastries, gravies and salads. Make sure that these are properly refrigerated.
