Summertime means fun and frolic, with swimming, backyard barbeques and beach trips!! But don’t forget the bright hot sun plays havoc with your skin.

Sandalwood Powder:
A blend of sandalwood powder with a few drops of rose water or almonds helps in detanning. Apply this paste on your skin and leave it for half an hour before washing off with cold water. Sandalwood has great soothing and skin lightening properties.

Aloe Vera Gel:
This is a good treatment for sun tanned skin. Apply some pure aloe vera gel on the affected area during the night. Besides removing the tan it also helps sooth, cleanse, clear, and nourish the skin.

Sugar Scrub:
A good home remedy for sun tan is to mix sugar granules with the juice of a lemon. Add a little glycerin and scrub the exposed skin with the mixture in gentle circular motion. Keep for 15 minutes. This will help get rid of the tan and soften the skin.

Tomato & Cucumber Juice:
Mix the juices of tomato and cucumber and apply it on your face. Let it work for 30 minutes and then wash it off with fresh water. Used on a daily basis, this mixture will brighten the skin and erase the tan.

Raw Potato Juice:
Potato juice is an effective home remedy to rid of tan. Apply a mixture of 1 tsp of lemon juice and 1 tsp of potato juice and leave it on for 15 minutes. Repeat this process daily till you get rid of the tan.
